LIVOLO Smart Touch Slide Dimmer is designed for smooth brightness control of dimmable lighting. The light can be controlled directly from the panel using the touch slider, and after connection via the LIVOLO EC Gateway — also from a smartphone using the LIVOLO app.

Convenient brightness control

The touch scale features «−» and «+» controls.

• touching «+» increases the brightness by one level;

• touching «−» decreases the brightness by one level;

• 7 brightness levels are available;

• sliding your finger along the scale allows you to gradually increase or decrease brightness;

• a separate touch button is used to quickly turn the light on and off.

The dimmer remembers the last selected brightness level. The next time the light is switched on, it returns to the previous brightness level, so there is no need to adjust it again.

Indication

The dimmer is equipped with LED indicators and an audible signal. The indicators are used during brightness adjustment, EC Gateway pairing, and 2-way function setup.

The dimmer can be integrated into the LIVOLO Smart Home system.

Using the LIVOLO HOME mobile app, you can conveniently configure various automation scenarios directly from your smartphone.

To use all smart dimmer functions, you will need the LIVOLO HOME app and an EC Gateway. The gateway connects different smart devices, processes information, and sends commands, making the entire smart home more convenient and automated.

Compatible lamps

The dimmer is designed only for lighting that supports dimming.

Minimum load — 10 W.

Before purchasing LED lamps or light fixtures, make sure that the manufacturer specifies dimming support (Dimmable). Standard non-dimmable LED lamps may operate incorrectly, flicker, or may not allow brightness adjustment at all.

The maximum total load current for the dimmer is 2 A.

Automatic lamp adaptation

After power is applied for the first time, the dimmer automatically adapts to the connected lighting. During this process, the lamp brightness may change from minimum to maximum and back again.

This is normal behavior during device setup.

Smart control via LIVOLO

This model uses the proprietary LIVOLO EC wireless protocol.

A compatible LIVOLO EC Gateway is required for smartphone control. Once the dimmer is added to the gateway, it appears in the LIVOLO app and can be used as part of the smart home system.

To enter pairing mode, press and hold the touch button for approximately 5 seconds until you hear a beep and the indicators start flashing.

Once successfully connected to the gateway, the brightness level can be adjusted via the app. To implement smart automation functions, the dimmer should be used together with other smart devices. For example, in a home cinema scenario, automatic brightness adjustment when entertainment equipment is switched on or off requires at least one smart socket, one EC Gateway, and one EC switch with a slide dimmer.

Installing an additional hub is an easy way to extend the system coverage. It becomes useful when LIVOLO devices are located on different floors, in a nearby building, or at a significant distance from each other. With an additional hub, the system maintains stable communication with all devices, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted operation. The hub runs on the EC real-time operating system.

Wiring diagram

The dimmer is connected to the mains using the standard wiring scheme already present in your electrical installation. No changes to the existing wiring are required. Simply remove the conventional wall switch and install the touch dimmer in its place.

Neutral connection

The manufacturer's wiring design allows the dimmer to operate without connecting a neutral wire directly to the dimmer.

If the lamp flickers, restarts, or operates unstably at maximum brightness, the manufacturer recommends connecting neutral N to the corresponding dimmer terminal.

Can LIVOLO dimmers control the brightness of LED lamps and LED strips?

You can use our dimmers with LED lamps provided that the LED lamps support dimming. This information can usually be found in the lamp instructions or product description. LED strip brightness can also be adjusted, but make sure that the power supply supports TRIAC dimming.

What voltage are LIVOLO touch dimmers designed for?

LIVOLO touch dimmers are connected to a 220 V mains supply in the same way as a conventional switch, in the live wire circuit. A neutral wire is not required. The dimmer does not operate on a 12 V circuit.

Can the dimmer be connected to an RGB LED strip?

The dimmer only controls the brightness of white light. An RGB dimmer is required for selecting and controlling other colors.

What power supply is required for dimming an LED strip?

To connect an LED strip to the dimmer, use a dimmable TRIAC power supply. Power supplies are available in different types. The main things to check are the TRIAC marking and the rated power.

How can dimming be controlled from multiple locations?

To switch the light on/off and control brightness from two locations, a main (Master) switch is used — a 2-way dimmer to which the lighting load is connected. It controls both on/off operation and brightness. The secondary (Slave) switch is a 2-way switch that operates in on/off mode and sends the corresponding on/off command to the Master switch.

Which switches have backlighting?

All LIVOLO touch switches are equipped with illumination around the touch control area. LIVOLO mechanical rocker switches do not have backlighting.

Can LIVOLO switches and sockets be installed vertically?

Yes. LIVOLO switches and sockets can also be installed vertically. Since the mechanism can only be installed in the glass panel or frame in one orientation, the switch or socket mechanism must be rotated 90 degrees to the left or right for vertical installation. For sockets, only the metal mounting frame needs to be rotated: remove the socket mechanism from the metal frame, rotate the frame, and reinstall the socket so that the socket openings remain horizontal.

What is the service life of LIVOLO touch switches?

The manufacturer specifies a service life of 100,000 on/off operations. Verifying this in practice is difficult because this is a very high number of operating cycles. However, based on our experience, switches installed on demonstration stands and used very frequently have continued to operate normally for more than 5.5 years.
