Come home to a warm house, wake up in a comfortable room, and avoid walking over to the boiler every time you need to change the temperature. The LIVOLO EC smart thermostat with dry contact automates the control of compatible heating equipment and helps maintain comfort without constant manual adjustments.

Set your desired temperature on the touch panel or in the LIVOLO app. The thermostat will monitor the selected sensor and send a heating request to the equipment when needed. A weekly schedule lets you adapt your heating to your lifestyle.

Dry contact — a heating request without supplying voltage to the control input

A dry contact works like a controlled switch: it closes or opens the connection between COM and NO without supplying its own voltage to these terminals. This allows the thermostat to connect to equipment that requires contact closure to start heating.

For example, if your boiler has an input for a dry contact room thermostat, LIVOLO EC can control the call for heat. When the temperature is below the setpoint, the thermostat closes the contact. Once the desired temperature is reached, it opens the contact, and the boiler controls respond according to their settings.

You control the room temperature from a convenient wall panel or your smartphone — without having to adjust the settings on the boiler itself each time.

What equipment can it control?

LIVOLO EC with dry contact is suitable for systems that support control through contact closure and opening:

• Gas and electric boilers — provided they have a suitable room thermostat input.

• Water-based underfloor heating — through a compatible zone controller or a suitable electrothermal actuator.

• Individual heating zones — to control heating in a room or space through compatible controls.

• Other heating equipment — if its wiring scheme supports dry contact control.

The contact current rating of this version is up to 3 A. The connection method and compatibility are determined by the heating equipment’s instructions. For actuators and other loads that require power, the dry contact switches an external circuit — the thermostat itself does not supply voltage at the COM/NO output.

A comfortable temperature without constant intervention

When the room feels cool, you want more warmth. When it gets too hot, you need to turn the heating down. If you do this manually, maintaining comfort requires constant attention.

LIVOLO EC takes care of these repetitive tasks for you. In temperature control mode, it compares the selected sensor’s readings with the setpoint and controls the connected heating system.

This is convenient for a house, apartment, office or shop: you choose the desired temperature, and the thermostat automatically starts and stops the call for heat.

Warmth on your schedule

Why maintain the same high temperature when you are at home and when the space is empty? Set a separate schedule for each day of the week — with up to six temperature periods per day.

For example:

• Before you wake up — start heating in advance for a more comfortable morning.

• After leaving for work — lower the target temperature.

• Before returning home — resume heating, allowing for your system’s warm-up time.

• At night — set a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

• At weekends — use a different schedule when your family spends more time at home.

For an office or shop, you can schedule heating ahead of staff arrival and reduce the temperature after closing. This helps avoid unnecessary heating and use energy more efficiently.

Plans changed? Adjust the temperature from your smartphone

Working late, coming home early or going away for a few days? There is no need to keep the heating running on its usual schedule if it does not suit your plans today.

With the LIVOLO app, you can:

• check the current temperature;

• change the target temperature;

• enable and disable heating control;

• set up a weekly schedule;

• select the sensor for temperature control;

• activate the touch panel lock.

A compatible LIVOLO EC gateway is required for smartphone control. The gateway must be connected to the internet for remote access.

Air or floor temperature control

The thermostat has a built-in temperature sensor and supports the connection of up to two external NTC 10 kΩ or DS18B20 sensors. In the app, you can select which single sensor will be used to regulate heating.

For boiler control, you can use the air temperature near the thermostat. For a compatible underfloor heating system, you can use an external sensor installed in the floor.

You choose what you need to monitor, and the thermostat controls the dry contact according to those readings. Connecting multiple sensors does not create separate control channels: the device has one COM/NO output.

The target temperature range is 0 to +50 °C. Temperature compensation lets you adjust the built-in sensor readings by −9 to +9 °C.

Simple control for the whole family

To change the temperature, simply touch the “+” or “−” buttons on the touch panel. The digital display shows the temperature, and the relay indicator lets you see when the thermostat activates its output.

The display brightness in standby mode is adjustable, so you can choose a dimmer backlight for a bedroom. During use, the panel lights up at maximum brightness, then returns to the selected level after 15 seconds of inactivity.

The touch button lock protects your settings from accidental touches. You can also activate automatic panel locking through the app.

Additional control features

• Overheat protection — stops the call for heat when the specified temperature thresholds are exceeded.

• Frost protection — activates the call for heat if the sensor detects a temperature below +5 °C.

• Fault indication — provides a notification of a device hardware error.

• Cycle mode — controls operation within a repeating 30-minute cycle with a set on-time.

• “Away” and “Sleep” modes — additional operating options.

How to get started

After connecting the thermostat to compatible equipment, set up the EC gateway and add the device in the LIVOLO app. To enter pairing mode, press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the “+” and “−” indicators start flashing.

Next, select the sensor for temperature control, set a comfortable temperature and create a schedule. For everyday use, all you need to do is adjust the temperature when necessary — on the panel or from your smartphone.
