LIVOLO Matter Gateway — a gateway for integrating LIVOLO EC devices into the modern Matter ecosystem. It allows you to control compatible LIVOLO devices not only through the LIVOLO app, but also to add them to Matter smart home systems, including Apple Home, Google Home / Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa.

The gateway acts as a bridge between LIVOLO EC devices and Matter: it receives their current status, sends this information to the smart home system, and transmits commands back to the devices.

What Matter Gateway provides

Once the gateway is connected, compatible LIVOLO EC devices can be combined with devices from other manufacturers within a single Matter system. For example, LIVOLO switches, sensors, and other devices can participate in shared automation scenarios together with Matter devices from other brands.

Devices can be controlled:

• through the LIVOLO app;

• through a compatible Matter platform;

• using automations and scenarios;

• by voice through compatible voice ecosystems, such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa;

• through Apple Home when using the appropriate Matter ecosystem.

Up to 128 LIVOLO EC devices

Up to 128 EC devices can be connected to one LIVOLO Matter Gateway through the LIVOLO app.

Supported devices include:

• built-in mains-powered devices, such as LIVOLO EC switches;

• portable and standalone battery-powered EC devices, such as sensors.

The number of built-in mains-powered EC devices is limited to 80 devices.

Important: the actual number of devices that can be transferred from the LIVOLO Gateway to Matter may depend on the limitations of the specific Matter platform.

Scenes and automations

Devices connected to the gateway can be used in LIVOLO APP automations and scenes.

After integration with Matter, additional scenes and automations can also be created in the app of the corresponding Matter platform. This makes it possible to combine LIVOLO devices with other compatible smart home devices.

For example, a single automation can simultaneously control LIVOLO lighting and other Matter devices in the home.

How to connect

1. Connect the Matter Gateway to power via USB.

2. Add the gateway to the LIVOLO APP.

3. Connect the required LIVOLO EC devices to the gateway.

4. In the Matter section, activate the option to add the gateway to Matter.

5. Open the required Matter platform and scan the Matter QR code or enter the pairing code.

6. Once setup is complete, compatible EC devices can be used within the Matter system.

The LIVOLO app is available for Android and iOS.

Adding new EC devices to Matter

Once the Gateway has already been connected to Matter, new EC devices can be added through the LIVOLO APP.

The button on the gateway itself can also be used to activate the device pairing mode for Matter. Once this mode is activated, the Gateway allows a new EC device to be added to the Matter network.

The gateway uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi wireless network.
