Comfort automation: using sound and light sensors in a smart home
A smart sound and light sensor is sensitive to levels of sound signals and brightness of light. The sensor can be integrated into the LIVOLO Smart Home system.
With the LIVOLO HOME mobile application, you will be able to conveniently configure various automatic scenarios right on your smartphone.
To utilize all the features of the smart twilight sensor and sound sensor, you will need the LIVOLO HOME app and a ZigBee gateway. The gateway connects various smart devices, analyzes information, and sends commands, making the entire smart home more convenient and automated.
Examples of automatic scenarios:
1. Automatic lighting adjustment:
- When the external illumination level drops below a specified threshold, the twilight sensor sends a ZigBee signal to the gateway.
- The gateway analyzes the information and sends a command to turn off the lights in the room through smart switches.
- Once the illumination returns to the appropriate level, the gateway turns off the lights.
2. Automatic curtain control:
- If the twilight sensor detects a high level of brightness, it may indicate excessive sunlight.
- The system can send a signal to the curtain switch or electric curtain rod to close the curtain, reducing direct sunlight entering the room.
- When the illumination decreases, the system opens the curtains, providing natural lighting.
3. Automatic lighting activation based on sound:
- The sound sensor responds to sound signals, such as claps.
- If the sound sensor detects a clap, it sends this signal to the ZigBee gateway.
- The gateway can turn on or off the lights through the respective smart switches based on the received signal.
These automatic scenarios showcase how light and sound sensors can be integrated into a smart home system to automate lighting and enhance comfort. The capabilities of the sensor can be greatly expanded by combining it with other types of sensors.
