Smart light brightness control

A ZigBee pass-through light regulator, also known as a dimmer, is a device that performs not only the function of turning the light on and off, but also regulates its brightness. Imagine starting your morning not with a bright light in your eyes, but with the light gradually coming on and filling the room. How much more pleasant would such an awakening be?

Thanks to a touch panel, which is based on advanced sensors, you can adjust the brightness of the light simply by touching it.

The dimmer is equipped with a memory function that allows it to remember the last set brightness level. This means that you can turn on the lighting fixtures with the pre-set brightness.

With its capabilities, the dimmer helps create a cozy atmosphere in the room, allowing you to adjust the lighting brightness according to your mood and needs.

Touch control

With the touch dimmer, you can easily adjust the lighting according to your needs. For example, before sleep, simply swipe your finger on the sensor to set a dim light that helps you relax and fall asleep.

During intensive work that strains your eyes, use the dimmer at full power to have bright lighting and improve visibility.

At other times of the day, set the dimmer to a moderate level, which allows you to save electricity while providing comfortable lighting for your eyes. This mode ensures optimal lighting considering your comfort and efficiency.

Remote control from APP

The Livolo touch dimmer provides you with the ability to remotely control the lighting from anywhere in the world through the Internet. This is especially convenient when you are away from home. You can turn the lights on or off and even set automatic lighting schedules at different times of the day.

This gives you full control over the lighting even when you're not physically present. You can create schedules for turning the lights on and off to create the illusion of presence when you're away. This not only provides convenience but also enhances security, especially when you're not at home.

Automation. Setting schedules

Imagine this scenario: You're engrossed in an exciting movie and don't want to get up from bed to turn off the lights in the children's room. With a voice command to your Smart Home system, you can do all of that effortlessly. Simply give the corresponding command, and the system will turn off the lights for you.

Or, if you're in a hurry to leave the apartment and don't have time to check all the rooms, don't worry! The Smart Home can handle it according to a preset scenario. You can set up an optimal scenario that automatically turns off the lights, locks the front doors, and activates the security system when you leave. All of this can be controlled from your smartphone, ensuring that you always have the best scenario at your fingertips with the help of the Smart Home.

Smart Home provides convenience, efficiency, and security by allowing you to control various aspects of your home environment from the convenience of your smartphone.

Glass frame

The dimmer is designed with a glass frame, giving it a stylish appearance. This glass frame adds elegance and a modern touch to your decor, creating a harmonious blend with your interior. Thanks to its design, the dimmer becomes not only a functional device for controlling lighting but also an additional element of style that influences the overall appearance of the room.

Compatibility with LED bulbs

Dimmable touch switches are compatible with various types of bulbs that support dimming functionality. The recommended power range for bulbs used with such switches is between 5 and 500 Watts.

Reliable Connection with the Gateway

The capabilities of the dimmer are consistently provided by the brain of the LIVOLO system - the hub. Adding a switch to the hub is easily done with just a click in the LIVOLO HOME application.

The ZigBee dimmer with a slide brightness controller is a functional part of a smart home system and is used together with the ZigBee 3.0 gateway.

After successful connection to the gateway, brightness settings can be adjusted through the application. To implement smart interaction functionality, the dimmer should be used in conjunction with other smart devices. For example, in theater mode, to use the brightness adjustment feature when turning on and off the cinema equipment, you need at least one ZigBee smart outlet, one ZigBee gateway, and one ZigBee switch with a slide brightness controller.

Installing a gateway is an easy way to expand the boundaries of the system. It becomes necessary when LIVOLO system devices are located on different floors, in adjacent buildings, or at a significant distance. With an additional hub, the system maintains a stable connection with all devices, ensuring comprehensive and uninterrupted protection. The gateway operates under the control of the real-time operating system EC.

Wiring diagram

The connection to the electrical network is done using the standard wiring scheme already present in your electrical system. You do not need to make any changes to the existing electrical wiring scheme. Simply disconnect the regular wall switch and replace it with the touch switch in the same position.

Installation instructions:

1. Turn off the power supply.
2. Connect the switch according to the diagram.
3. Secure the switch to the socket using screws.
4. Install the touch panel.
5. Restore the power supply.
6. The switch will start operating after 15 seconds.

FAQ

Can LIVOLO dimmers adjust the brightness of LED lamps and LED strips?

You can use our light dimmers with LED lamps, provided that the LED lamps support this function. This information can be found in the instruction manual or description of the LED lamps. It is also possible to dim LED strips, but make sure that your transformer supports TRIAC dimming technology.

What voltage are the LIVOLO touch dimmers designed for?

Touch dimmers are connected to a 220-volt power supply using a regular switch wiring scheme, interrupting the phase. They do not require a neutral wire. The dimmer does not operate on a 12-volt power supply.

Can the dimmer be connected to an RGB LED strip?

Yes, the dimmer operates only in the mode of adjusting the brightness of white light. To select other colors, an RGB dimmer is used, which allows controlling the brightness and color spectrum of LED lamps with the ability to change the lighting color.

What power supply is required for dimming an LED strip?

To connect the strip to the dimmer, you need to use a compatible TRIAC dimmable power supply. Transformers can have different types, but the main thing to look for is the TRIAC designation and the power it is designed for.

How to implement multi-location dimming?

To switch and control the brightness of a lighting device from two locations, a Main (Master) switch is used. It is a two-way dimmer connected to the load device. It operates in both on/off and brightness adjustment modes. Additionally, there is a Secondary (Slave) switch, which is a two-way switch that operates in on/off mode. It sends the on/off command to the Main switch.

Which switches have backlighting?

All touch switches are equipped with backlighting for the sensor area. However, on Livolo button switches, there may not be any backlighting.

Can LIVOLO switches and sockets be installed vertically?

Yes, LIVOLO touch switches can also be installed in a vertical position. Since the mechanism can only be installed in one orientation in the glass panel or frame, the switches or sockets need to be rotated 90 degrees to the right or left for vertical installation. In the case of sockets, only the metal frame needs to be rotated. The socket should be removed from the metal frame, and after rotating the metal frame, it should be reinserted so that the socket holes are positioned horizontally.

What is the lifespan of LIVOLO touch switches?

The manufacturer claims 100,000 on/off operations, which is a very large number and difficult to verify in practice. However, based on our experience, the switches on the demonstration stand, which are frequently used, continue to function properly for over 5.5 years.

What is the warranty period for LIVOLO products?

The warranty period for LIVOLO products is 1 year. We provide full and immediate replacement of any defective LIVOLO products.
