No modifications to the electrical wiring are required to install LIVOLO pass-through switches. LIVOLO touch pass-through (toggle, alternate) switches can be installed on existing wiring that was laid for mechanical pass-through switches.

To control the lighting from two locations

Connect the live wire to the "L" terminal on both switches. Then, connect the two switches with an information wire at the "COM" terminal. Finally, connect the lamp wire to the "L1" and "L2" terminal on the Master switch.

After connecting the wires and restoring power to the circuit, it is necessary to program the switches. Programming should begin with the Master switch. More details about programming.

Master switch - this is 2 way switch, works in on/off mode. 

Slave switch - this is 2 way switches which sends the on/off command to the main switch.

• for connecting the Master switch, the terminals used are as follows: L - Live, L1 and L2 - Load line output, COM - Information.
• for connecting the Slave switch, two terminals are used: L - Live, COM - Information.

To control the lighting from three locations

Connect the live wire to the "L" terminal on all three switches. Then, connect all three switches with an information wire at the "COM" terminal. Finally, connect the lamp wire to one of the switches at the "L1" and "L2" terminal.

Does LIVOLO have a three-way touch switch?

Yes. Standard 2 way touch switch (alternate, pass-through, crossover) switches have the function of three-way switching. It is possible to control the lamp from 3-5 different locations. Therefore, there is no separate model for a three-way switch because there is no need for it.

Can I connect LIVOLO 2 way touch switch switches with mechanical 2 way switches?

Livolo touch 2 way switches work in pairs with each other. They are not designed to work with mechanical switches. After connecting the touch switches, you need to program them to work together.

Can I control one light from three different locations?

Yes, Livolo 2 way touch switches allow you to control the lighting from different locations. The connection scheme for 2 way touch switcheі is similar to machanical switches, with the only difference being that the lighting control is done through the COM wire, to which you can connect 2 way touch switches in any quantity.

Can a two-way touch switch work as a simple switch?

Yes, the Livolo switch is versatile and can function as a regular switch. Moreover, in a 2 gang 2 way touch switch, one sensor can be used as a regular switch while the other can be used as a 2 way switch. This provides greater flexibility in lighting control and allows you to use the switch according to your needs.

What is the wiring diagram for a smart 2 way touch switches?

2 way switches have a Master switch and Slave switches. The Master switch controls the load, while the Slave switches send the on/off command to the Master switch. Smart switches are installed only in the position of the Master switch. Slave switches use usual 2 way switches.

Which switches have backlighting?

All touch switches are equipped with backlighting for the sensor area. Turn on the switch – red indicators, turn off the switch – blue indicator. However, Livolo mechanical switches do not have backlighting.

Can LIVOLO switches and sockets be installed vertically?

Yes! Livolo switches can also be installed vertically. Since the module can only be installed in a glass panel or frame in one way, the switches or sockets need to be rotated 90 degrees to the right or left for vertical mounting. In the case of sockets, only the metal frame needs to be rotated. The socket should be taken out of the metal frame, and after rotating the metal frame, the socket should be inserted back into it so that the socket holes are oriented horizontally.

What is the operational lifespan of LIVOLO touch switches?

The manufacturer claims 100,000 on/off operations, and it is difficult to verify this in practice due to the large number. However, based on our experience, the switches on the demonstration stand, which are frequently used, continue to function normally for over 5.5 years. This demonstrates the durability and reliability of these switches.
